General information about the university
Founded in 1471, University of Genoa is one of the largest universities in Italy. At the end of the 20th century it began active development, and it was composed of many new regional campuses. Today, the University of Genoa has about 40,000 students and employs more than 1,800 teachers and researchers as well as about 1,600 employees.
The University includes 11 faculties, 53 academic departments and divisions that provide services in the field of information technology.
Genoa University actively supports scientific research, has constant cooperation with the entrepreneurs in the field of technical and scientific innovation.
The University has extensive experience in international cooperation projects, research projects and student mobility projects.

Faculty of naval engineering and marine technologies
Faculty of naval engineering and marine technologies (DINAV) was founded in 1993, it was composed of staff and equipment of the Institute of Naval Polikattedra technology. The faculty taught the Disciplines of marine engineering industry, shipbuilding and marine systems are taught at the faculty.
Faculty staff conducts research in collaboration with students and graduate programs in collaboration with enterprises, research institutes and universities, both in Italy and abroad. 1. Marine design, illuminating both hydrostatics (geometry, equilibrium and stability) and hydrodynamics (the resistance to movement, engines and seaworthiness);
2. Construction and Design, studying the general allocation of space, ergonomics and aesthetics.
3. Shipbuilding, in the frames of which as structural body proportions (load, design and distribution structures, robustness check) and construction methods are considered;
4. Ship equipment, including propulsion and control systems (engines, drive shafts, propellers, and steering wheel), auxiliary and special installations and accessories.
